Low-cost airline launches business class

After Air Deccan changed its image from a low-cost carrier (LCC) to a value carrier by offering meals on board, it’s now turn for GoAir. On Tuesday, GoAir, another LCC, announced that it is going to launch business class on its flights.
Passengers who grumbled for non-availability of hot meals when they boarded a low-cost airline or shuddered at the thought of buying a water bottle on board, can now expect them on GoAir from October 27. The airline has launched its Go Comfort business class where passengers can look forward for complementary meals on board.
“Business class tickets in India are exorbitant. Go Comfort is for those who want the comfort of business class at the price of economy,” said Edgardo Badiali, CEO, GoAir.
GoAir operates 100 flights daily and will have 16 business class seats. “These seats will be in the front four rows. The window and aisle seats can be booked under Go Comfort while the middle one will remain empty,” says Badiali. A Go Comfort passenger will have to pay Rs1,750 extra over the available fares. The passengers will also have the priority check-in facility and can reschedule at the last moment without any extra charge.
